In 1991, Avi founded Avcon Construction, not only because he wanted to be the boss. Avi’s passion for efficiency, quality and transparency in the construction world drove him to realize that there is a better way to get from A to B. And, he wanted to be the boss. Initially, implementing his systems meant doing it all - from sales to estimating and project management. As the company matured, “Coach” has taken more of a “behind the scenes” approach, allowing highly qualified individuals deal with daily issues while always willing to assist in more sensitive or technical issues.
Avi’s “rock” is his beautiful wife of over 30 years. His three grown children are all successful and smart enough to be pursuing careers outside of construction. They enjoy outperforming their dad on the ski slopes and in the gym. In his spare time, Avi enjoys a variety of sports, as well as travel and classical music.

Nick has been flying under the radar since joining Avcon in 2001. Left to his own devices, “Stealth” will resolve an issue before you even know there was one. His success is gauged by the quality of his finished product and consistently meeting deadlines. Nick obtained a diploma in Architectural Technology from George Brown College. He is blessed with a lovely wife and two wonderful daughters. In his spare time, Nick spends it with his family and enjoys playing volleyball and ball hockey.

Project Manager "Silk"
Reza joined the Avcon Team as a Project Manager in 2019. He arrived with an impressive international construction background and wasted no time successfully implementing his skills on some of our more challenging projects.
Reza has earned his nickname ‘Silk’ because of his ability to smooth over rough situations with a positive, friendly approach.
In his spare time, Reza likes to spend time in the gym and from time-to-time enjoy a nice cup of coffee with friends.

Our “good cop”, (ok, sometimes she’s the bad cop) keeps our various properties and businesses happy and under control. Ellyn joined Avcon in 2009 and quickly proved herself capable of greater challenges. As the company and its portfolio grows, Ellyn takes on a more significant role. Ellyn holds a Bachelor degree in Arts and Education from York University. In her spare time, she enjoys taking classes at the gym, travelling and entertaining friends and family.

When you think of tenacious, as Project Coordinator at Avcon, Lisa never gives up – ever. She’ll do whatever is necessary with her persistent determination and enthusiasm to accomplish a goal and she’ll do it with a sense of humour too.
Lisa has a past education with The Royal Conservatory of Music, a background in working with consulting engineers and speaks conversational Spanish. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with family and friends, photography, and of course, singing karaoke.

Austin has been taking care of business in a "Flash" since joining our property management team in 2022. He holds a bachelor of Information Technology from Ontario Tech University and is currently working toward his certificate in Property and Facilities Management from Toronto Metropolitan University. Outside the office, Austin has a fiancee and two adorable cats. In his spare time, he can be found playing strategic board games, at the gym, or on the volleyball court.

Lorenzo is the newest addition to the property management team, joining us in 2022. The "Hammer" will fix any problem in a jiffy. Lorenzo is our maintenance manager, responsible for maintaining the properties of 25 and 41 Scarsdale Road. He's handy, reliable, and always up for a new challenge when it comes to resolving issues to ensure the safety and comfort of our tenants.

A smooth sea never made a skilled sailor, and after 40 years in the industry Mike has braved through plenty of storms. Mike's skills and experience as a Site Superintendant has earned him the nickname 'Captain.' Mike worked as a carpenter prior to joining Avcon over 20 years ago. Today, Mike enjoys working on projects alongside his son, Jack, who is following in his footsteps.

Arkadi is more than your typical Site Superintendant. The way the "Maestro" strings together all the pieces of a construction project is truly magnificent. Arkadi received his Construction Engineering Technology (CET) certificate upon graduating from Civil Engineering in Ukraine. He's been part of the Avcon team for over 15 years, and has a total of over 40 years in the industry. Outside of work, Arkadi enjoys listening to music, and spending time with his wife and daughter.

Assistant Site Superintendant "Construction Philosopher"
To build, or not to build. Well, that's never a question for Socrates, our Construction Philosopher. Socrates believes that construction begins with the recognition of one's own hands; that a life without construction is a deconstruction of life; and that ethical virtue and construction are the only things that matter. When he's not busy pondering the questions of the universe of construction, Socrates commands our projects as an assistant site-superintendant. He is a leader and a hard worker which stems from his years of working as a site-labourer with Avcon. We are grateful to have Socrates as part of our elite team, bringing years of knowledge and elevating the standards for all workers on our sites.

Labourer "Prodigy"
Ross is the youngest recruit to the Avcon force, but this rookie has already become a prodigy. His excellent work ethic and skills make him a reliable commodity on any project he's on. Ross grew up in Ennismore, Ontario, and has been living in Toronto for over 10 years now. He's an avid football and baseball fan as well as a life long hockey player. We look forward to seeing how far this Avcon prodigy will go.

Accounting Manager "Twilight"
Aneta joined the Avcon Team as an Accounting Manager in 2023, bringing along years of industry experience she has accumulated since 2010. She balances the Avcon books like 'twilight' balances day and night. Aneta holds a Computer Programming Diploma from Humber College, a Real Estate license from OREA, and Income Tax Certificates from H&R Block.
In her spare time, Aneta can be found gardening, making delicious Polish croquettes and pierogies, and spending time with her family.
